This spring, the AIB is hosting 18 Landscape Architecture students from Penn State University in a semester-long study abroad program. As part of their studies, each student is portraying one week of the program and the group activities taking place in it in a "Weekly Photo Report".
With the first two weeks behind us, please check out the groups first two reports! Week 1 has been chronicled by Michael Minchin, Week 2 by Fletch Phillips. There will be more to come!

NEW BEGINNINGS IN THE OLD CITY HALL

On Friday, January 20th students of the AIB from LMU, Texas A&M, and Penn State attended a reception at the Old Town Hall which was recently reopened after the remodeling. The students were warmly welcomed by the deputy mayor of Bonn, Angelica Maria Kappel, whom spoke about the history of Bonn and the distinguished old town hall. Among the various facts she shared, she proudly noted that Bonn has developed into a center of international relations especially in the area of environment and sustainable development. She also shared many interesting facts regarding the town hall including visits by various American Presidents like President Kennedy and President Clinton. After her welcoming speech, the students had the opportunity to individually converse with Mrs. Kappel.
The following day the students and their host families gathered together at the new AIB to celebrate the beginning to a great semester. Bonn will be home for the next four months to all four programs of study which include Computer Animation, Biosciences, Business/ Liberal Arts and Landscape Architecture.
The evening began with introductions by each group. The Bioscience group from Texas A&M gave a lively demonstration on how to avoid pickpockets when traveling.
Texas A&M’s computer animation groups showed off their skills in a short video featuring each of them in a collection of moving photos. The group from Penn State brought a video from home that creatively demonstrated their uniqueness and study of area. Loyola Marymount University created a short and comical video demonstrating one thing they all had in common, a love for dance. The evening was a blast and only the beginning to many great experiences to come.
We're looking forward to a great Semester!
